It’s simply a group of MVHS parents committed to supporting Mustang Football. Our football program has enjoyed tremendous success over the last few years, and Mounds View is fast becoming one of the premiere football powerhouses in the state! An active booster club is absolutely necessary to continue this tradition of excellence.
The captains’ parents and all other football parents (freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior) who are interested in helping out. ALL football boosters are welcome! There are no dues or attendance requirements . . . only a willingness to support Mustang Football.
Monthly meetings are typically held at the Shoreview Community Center at 7:00 pm on the third Wednesday of every month, although the dates sometimes change due to holidays, school breaks, game conflicts, etc. Check the Important Dates page and make plans to join us at our next meeting!
Informally, yes. We actively support the team at all football games, both home and away. Home varsity games at Mustang Stadium are always well attended and booster club members usually get to the stadium early and informally gather near the 50 yard line. Away games are also well attended, and we often have just as many fans as the home team. Wear GREEN! Be PROUD and cheer LOUD!! Go MUSTANGS!!!
We organize and run a lot of activities in supporting the entire 9-12 football program. In the preseason, we develop a game program, organize team pictures, set up hot dog, watermelon, and root beer float feeds, coordinate the Back-to-Football Night and provide lunch after the scrimmages. During the season, we arrange carbo loads, coordinate and run the tailgate party, and organize homecoming halftime event and parents night. We’re also responsible for setting up cable TV coverage, coordinating game action pictures, and supporting the web site. Then, after the season, we coordinate all of the banquets (Freshmen, Sophomore and Varsity) and put together the year end varsity highlight video.
Absolutely! Supporting a major high school program like ours requires funds to update equipment, replace game uniforms, enable extra coaches, and pay for all the fun feeds, festivities, pictures, videos, banquets, etc. Our major fund raising activities include selling fertilizer and the Mustang Card, and organizing and staffing game concessions.
Start by browsing through the other sections of this awesome web site. Drill down through the menus to see our governance documents, see our activity coordinator list, and learn about our history. Browse some of the Booster Club meeting minutes and you’ll quickly appreciate the breadth of our support to the football program.
You can get involved at any level you feel comfortable with. First, you should plan on attending all of your sons’ football games, both home and away. Next, you should consider volunteering to help a current coordinator with an activity. Then, if you really want to get involved, consider volunteering to be an activity coordinator. Or, simply be supportive of the various Booster Club activities through out the year.
